After much hard work and planning the walls are going up on the new J.O. Chifundo School.  This news comes with great joy and anticipation as the school prepares for a new semester beginning in January.  While the school will not be ready for the upcoming term, it is agreed that if all goes according to plane the students will move in their new facility for the second term of 2009 which begin in May.

This progress can be attributed to the hard work of so many including Frank Pupe, the project foreman, the J.O. Chifundo School Board, and the U.S. Advisory Board.  Without their hard work and persistance this day and season would not be reality.

Host families in the U.S. believed that these young men deserved the promised education and a chance to transition back into the Zambian life.

The proposed J. O. Chifundo School building plan is to provide a permanent building for this 9 year old school and thereby direct all tuition collected to curriculum/ teachers rather than escalating rental prices associated with the current facility. The Chifundo parent committee purchased land 3 years ago in hopes of this being possible.
